ABOUT THE SET
1970 Topps contains 150 cards measuring 2 1/2" x 4 11/16". This would be the last time Topps would issue a “tall boy” set until 1976.
UNIQUENESS
22 cards were short-printed. Cards 1-6 feature the stat leaders from the previous season and cards 168-175 show highlights from the 1969 Championship series. This was also the first time Topps introduced all-star cards to a basketball set. Topps added a poster series to Series 2 packs.
KEY Rookies and HALL OF FAMERS
The set contains 53 Hall of Famers including the Pete Maravich and Pat Riley rookie cards.

UNIQUENESS
Topps introduced two new subsets into the 1970 Topps basketball set - a six card set of of 1969 season leaders cards and an eight card set highlighting moments from the 1969 Championship Series.
For the first time, Topps issued a ten card (all hall of famers) all-star subset in the 1970 basketball issue. East Coast teams feature a player’s photo on a red and yellow background and West Coast teams on a blue and green background.
Doubling down on the issuance of rulers in the 1969 Topps packs, Topps included 8x10 posters, printed on very think paper, into the 1970 Series 2 packs. There are twelve total poster though they are numbered 2 through 19. Highlights include Wilt Chamberlain, Lew Alcindor, and John Havlicek.
